Biography


Laurie Legrand is a multidisciplinary artist living in Ireland since 1992, exhibited internationally since 1996.
In 1999, she founded in DublinThe Laboratory of Living Arts”.
In 2000, she worked in Barcelona focussing on murals and large scale painting, collaborating with local and international artists, appearing in many publications on street arts.
In 2009, she opened “Grune Hund” Studio school, gallery and studio in Berlin.
In Edinburgh, she joined the glorious but short-lived Armchair group in 2010.
In 2022, she opened the school and artist studio, “The Learning Garden” in Co. Galway.

Recently, her work was selected for the 142nd Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition in Belfast (2023). She received the Agility Award in 2024. 
In 2025 she obtained a Residency with The Guesthouse Project in Cork as well as became a member of VAI and Sample Studios, was shortlisted for the STAC Open Call, as well as exhibited with Sample-Studios and Birr Arts Festival.
This year she is a recipient of the Galway County Council’s Artist Support Scheme, and is preparing a solo exhibition with the Laneway Gallery in Cork.

Her training includes the Academie de Dessin/Toulouse/France, the Crawford College, UCC/Cork/Ireland and an M.A. in Fine Arts from ERG school of Arts/Bruxelles/Belgium.
